Please tell me they mean Bhutto's posthumous legacy. Please tell me they weren't able to pull a cover that has been shockingly moot for 10 days. Please tell me that somebody very high up at the paper is going to fired for this.
I saw last night on the local news that Parade thought it was an important interview that people should read, and that yes, it was already on its way to the various papers it's inserted in when she was assassinated. But it was quite eery.
It seemed like a pretty good profile (I skimmed through it pretty fast on my way to the Sunday Source DVD picks, I must confess). I also have heard that there was a disclaimer/update in the text mentioning that Parade was indeed aware of the assassination. Why couldn't they have put that on the cover, I wonder?
Welcome to this series of "posts inspired by place" - from Central America to China to Chevy Chase (the town not the guy) and now Reston(TM), VA - where I'm a Ghost World kind of girl living in a Tracy Flick kind of town.
